Position Summary
Assumes accountability for medical direction in area of accountability, in collaboration with the Nursing Manager and Medical Director. Responsible for managing patients and coordinating the services provided by multiple disciplines within and outside the health system. Maintains a collaborative practice agreement with specific physician(s). Exercises independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of selected protocols/procedures. Provides educational support for patients/significant others, health team members and the community and coordinates QA/QI studies to measure outcomes of care.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Education : Bachelors Degree in nursing must be obtained within 7 years for those who start in an RN role at Spectrum Health on or after January 1, xxxx (Spectrum Health Grand Rapids only),Masters Degree in nursing or health:related field
Experience : 3 years of experience in current, relevant clinical experience
Licenses : Registered Nurse (RN)*
Basic Life Support (BLS) Note used for BLS,CPR and BCLS)90 Days
Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP)
Certified and licensed as a Nurse Practitioner (NP), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), or Women's Health Practitioner (WHP) by the State of Michigan
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience : Experience as a Nurse Practitioner/Midwife
