Nurse Technician Department: Rehab Nursing 3-East Schedule: Part-Time Shift: 8 Hours Every Other Weekend Hours: xxxx - xxxx; .7 FTE; 3E Job Details: * Under the direction and supervision of the R.N., the Nurse Tech., who is nonlicensed, receives special training to provide direct patient care. This includes assisting with the rehabilitative goals of the patient. Obtains and records vital signs; Answers call lights efficiently; Assists in bowel/bladder management and records I & O; Assists and/or performs routine non-sterile treatments and procedures as directed by the R.N. (i.e.: GT feedings, simple dressing changes); Obtains required measurements and weights; Reports all observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes (i.e.: patient's condition) to the R.N; Documents data on patient's bedside flow sheets. Essential Job Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent G.E.D.; Ability to read, write, comprehend basic medical terminology, and perform mathematical tasks; B.L.S. certification; C.N.A. certification; Ability to perform work of medium demand that involves standing, sitting, and frequently moving and lifting patients without weight restrictions. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant/Nurse Technician; bi-lingual.
